The EACC Tourism Promotion Division will champion tourism in East Africa and build it into a key economic driver for the region. East Africa is adorned with one of the most spectacular flora and fauna in the world. From the world renowned Mara/Serengeti wildlife migration, Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Kenya, the Ngorongoro crater, the E. A coastal white-sandy beaches and towns (Dar-salam, Mombasa), recently admitted world heritage town of Lamu, the mountain gorillas of Rwanda and Uganda, the numerous national parks & reserves, and the unique culture of E.A peoples. While the Chamber’s Promotion division performs its functions, it will also seek to fulfill the much broader economic development role for the tourism sector.
The Chamber’s Tourism Division will aim to ensure that tourism remains a key economic pillar through long-term strategic planning and partnership with the public and private sector stakeholders. Our goal is to create exciting and innovative experiences for potential visitors, aggressively seeking close partnership with the travel and trade industries to forward the East Africa region as a unique, compelling and choice destination for leisure and convention/business travel.
To accomplish this, the division will focus on three key areas:
- Promote and Strengthen East Africa’s position as a leading leisure/holiday tourism destination in Africa.
- Develop key partnerships to promote East Africa as a Convention and Exhibition destination in Africa.
- Promote East Africa as a leading Service Center destination of Africa.
